IMPROVING HEALTHCARE ACCESS FOR MARGINALISED PEOPLE
WELCOME TO THE NLO INITIATIVE
The Nobody Left Outside (NLO) initiative is a collective of organisations representing people in some of the most marginalised communities in Europe, including homeless people, LGTBI people, people who use drugs, prisoners, sex workers and undocumented migrants.
People in these groups are often at risk of poor health, but face many barriers in accessing healthcare.
The NLO initiative helps organisations collaborate toward improving healthcare access for the communities they represent – on the basis that nobody should be left outside our healthcare systems.
“Leaving No One Behind is at the core of everything we do at WHO Europe. Far too often, marginalised and underserved communities face serious barriers when accessing health services, in addition to the discrimination and stigma they still live with. The pandemic has only made things worse, exacerbating the inequalities that already existed. The work of organizations such as the Nobody Left Outside Initiative is key to ensuring everyone’s voice is heard, leaving no one behind, and ensuring that everyone can access the health care they need, when they need it.”
