On 5 March, the Nobody Left Outside (NLO) Initiative organised the event “Health Equity for Marginalised Voices – EU’s Path Forward,” bringing together policymakers, experts, and advocates to explore strategies for advancing health equity across the EU. Co-hosted by MEPs Stine Bosse, Vytenis Andriukaitis, and Tilly Metz, the event underscored the need for inclusive and equitable policies that address the specific challenges faced by marginalised communities.
Discussions highlighted the EU’s critical role in ensuring equal access to healthcare, addressing the social determinants of health, and embedding equity considerations across all areas of policy and legislation. Speakers emphasised the importance of developing targeted strategies to close health gaps—particularly for underserved populations—and reinforced the need for a collaborative, cross-sectoral approach to deliver lasting change.
